Career Planning – Pain or Passion?

In career planning, there are two motivations that cause a person to take action and get moving — PAIN and PASSION. I have experienced both motivations in career planning. You probably have as well.

Pain PUSHES us towards our career objectives even though our heels might be dug in. It tells us something is wrong. It causes us to intentionally address whatever is causing the pain.

Passion, on the other hand, positively PULLS us towards our career goals. It leads and inspires. It makes us come alive! When we find our passion, we’ll likely find our calling.
