Friday is the day I usually post Just For Fun videos, pictures, and thoughts. But like last week, I’m doing something a bit different today.
Success…true success…is more than fame, fortune, or power. It’s more than arriving at a certain place or position in life. It’s more than the accumulation of possessions, awards, and trophies. None of these things are bad and often they accompany true success. Yet to equate these things with true success is both shortsighted and unhealthy because one can gain all these things and never experience true success.
True success is about living right. It’s about being the best you that you can be no matter what life brings your way. It’s about character. It’s about integrity. It’s about doing the right thing even when no one else is around. It’s about E+R=O.
True success is also about serving others and adding value. It’s about making the world a better place by using your skills, abilities, passions, and personality in a manner that’s uniquely you.
True success is about knowing what your calling is and daring to be and do that calling each and every day!
These ideas are foundational to the Live It Forward brand. In other words, living it forward is about looking into the future and intentionally determining what you want your life to look like and how you want work to fit into that life. Once you have drafted the basic outline of that story, living it forward is about living in such a way that you proactively write your story into existence. It’s about taking the small steps everyday to turn your ideal future into a reality.
Bottom line, living it forward is determining what your path to success looks like and then walking that path to success into reality. It’s following your dreams because you know sooner or later you’ll catch up to those dreams and live them into reality.
