How to Achieve Goals — E-Book Cover Results

How to Achieve Goals — From Setting Goals to Getting Goals!

How to Achieve Goals - Thank You!Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

But first…

As you know, I hosted a Goal Getting TeleSeminar on December 6 & 7, 2011. The focus of this TeleSeminar was not just on setting goals or sharing common goal setting tips that anyone can find on the internet. Instead, the focus was on a simple, but comprehensive system of how to set AND achieve goals.

The feedback we received from the Goal Getting TeleSeminar was stellar (bummer if you missed it). The good news is we are currently transcribing, organizing, and editing the content from the Teleseminar. Once done, we will offer the Teleseminar recording, the Q&A Session recording, an E-Book, and more in a special Goal Getting Package.

Needless to say, because of the high demand for such a product, we are pumped to get this to the market as quickly as possible. At the same time, we want to make sure whatever we produce is developed with excellence. What this means is we are working hard to get this material on how to achieve goals edited and organized as quickly as possible, but not so quickly that the quality of the product suffers.

All that to say, as soon as we’re ready to launch, if you are interested, we’ll send you an exclusive, limited-time, discount offer. If you want to receive this offer, be sure to register here. (NOTE: This is our newsletter sign up page. Type in your email and you’ll be directed to a page that has four lists you can register for…be sure to register for the “Goal Setting & Goal Getting” List.)

Finally…let me get back to the Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Over 100 people participate in two sets of votes (Round 1 and Round 2), and their input was a tremendous help in refining the Goal Getting E-Book covers we plan to use. (Talk about helping us achieve goals!)

If you voted, thank you! Below are the two covers we are currently planning to use. Some tweaks will likely still occur (feel free to share additional ideas for improvement in the comment section below), but these two pictures give a good representation of our final covers.

We appreciate your help in the process! And again, additional comments are welcomed below.

Great job with the covers Kent.

Personally, I like the pose in the cover on the left with the setting and color scheme on the right.

    Keep rockin’

I know what you mean, Cam. The problem was, with the white shirt, I sort of disappeared with the color scheme on the right.

We’ll probably play around with the background of the left cover a bit more; but overall, we like what we have now WAY MORE than what we had in the beginning.

Thanks for helping me with this!

The wood background looks like you have a very fuzzy drop shadow behind you. If that is just a fluke, ask your designer to add a very fuzzy drop shadow to your photo layer that gradients out when it gets to your knees or so. That is something that will help your image jump out and be distinct from the background.

(Sidenote: My first reaction was the well lit photo was placed on the dark, shadow filled background and the not well lit photo was placed on the bright, well lit background — and I just had to wonder if someone noticed that.  However I did see that the white shirt would be completely lost in the background.)

Some other ways to help the pic be good on the background would be to take a straight black (or dark gray) layer at about 5-10% opacity over the background (minus the photo, logo, and title elements) and see how it distinguishes your white shirt in the other photo.

        Hope these ideas help.

          Very helpful!  Thanks Cam.

I agree with Cam. Better pose, left.  Better colors, right.  Looking forward to reading it, whichever cover it gets!

    • http://www.liveitforward.com Kent Julian

      Thanks Ernie!

Suggestions for better background colors on the left? It has to be darker than the background on the right.

      I’m very open to suggestions!

Maybe it’s just the wood background.  Have you played around with solid colors? Keep in mind, my wife won’t let me go near any type of designing or painting around our house…so I may not be the expert on this.

How about something closer to Dan Miller’s 48 Days book? A solid color with a burst.

        • http://www.liveitforward.com Kent Julian

I will definitely pass this along to our graphics people.  Thanks Ernie!

  • Archie

Seems like I voted for the toe point, and look of certainty you have in that pic. That lets people know you believe in this book 100% + ! Go Kent! And hey, I’ll be requesting a fresh copy for myself. :)

      Thanks Archie!!!!

Covers look great, Kent! Those were my two favorites.

Thanks, Michael. It’s a fun project that I’m stoked about producing!

    Hi Kent:

Reading some of the comments about the background color on the left image… It looks much better than with the white background you originally had. BUT it’s not the background color that’s the problem - it’s the floor. Tiles are not in correct portion AND are now “washed out” looking with the stronger wall color. Try either bigger tiles or smaller wood panels. And definitely stronger tile colors because the eye drifts down now (focal point is too low). You may also want to the lighter gradient paneling directly behind you so your legs don’t disappear! :)

    • http://www.liveitforward.com Kent Julian

Thanks Kathy…I agree, much stronger than it used to be. Still, I might just come up with a solid background for that cover or just the wood panel background.

As for the cover on the right, I think that’s going to get the green light as is.

      Again, thanks for you input!

  • Jeff McManus

Toe point shows your friendly side as well as very strong & confident.  The dark wood panel does not come across well on the computer, maybe better if looking at it in person.  I like the lighter background.  You are on a role!

Thanks buddy! Always appreciate your insight, Jeff.

    Kent,
    Your covers look great…congratuations!!!

Hey Kent, my 2 cents:  I don’t like the Wood -> Checkered floor difference.
Right one is better than the left.

What would it look like if you were up on a stage, with curtain or something behind you?  I always think of you as a speaker up on stage.

    • http://www.liveitforward.com Kent Julian

Good ideas! We are definitely re-doing the wood one.
